Mowglis Memories Podcast
Daniel Dennett - Mowglis Graduate 1956 and world-renowned philosopher.
With more than 16 books to his credit and over 400 scholarly articles and essays Daniel Dennett is a world renowned philosopher and thinker. Dan is often referred to as one of the "Four Horsemen of New Atheism", along with Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late Christopher Hitchens. Yet he is distinguished by his modesty and sense of humor.
Dan says that he was first introduced to the notion of philosophy while attending Mowglis when a counselor said to him, "You know what you are, Daniel? You're a philosopher."
Dan arrived in Mowglis in 1951 and began in the cubs but Colonel Elwell figured out pretty quickly that he was better off in the pack and within a few days he was a full-fledged member of the pack, graduating in 1956.
